Maria, AKA Space Dolphin, started her flow arts journey in 2015 with hooping, but double mini triangles (or as she affectionately calls them, “goops”) were the first two-handed prop that she truly connected with. She has witnessed many people find their flow with these props! One of her favorite aspects of triangles is that individuals often don’t feel like they’re “doing it wrong” when they attempt to use them. Goops seem to naturally give people permission to be silly and to do whatever comes to mind.

At the very beginning of her workshops, or whenever someone asks her to teach them “how to do it,” she encourages participants to take at least a few minutes to experiment without any preconceptions. They consistently come up with something creative, and she loves observing them experience their own original flow and realize that they already possess the freedom to innovate and play. If anyone shows hesitation, she reassures them, “there's no wrong way to triangle!” She encourages everyone to apply the mindset of “no wrong way to triangle” to all of flow arts, to all of art, and to all of life! They have the freedom and permission to try whatever they desire and to make it their own. It doesn’t have to be anything other than fun.
